CS: A Clue in the Stars

"So, what 'oo wanna show me?" Roos asked the head astronomer of Roosland, a certain Doctor Barnsworth, about the anomaly Zammy had mentioned. Kor and the other soldiers were talking about the files over by a table strewn with the papers.
"Well, King Roos, if you'd like to look through the telescope..."

Roos had only built the observatory because Doctor Barnsworth had asked for one. It only had three extra powerful telescopes, capable of seeing the stars, but no-one had complained about that. Yet... Roos looked through the elescope and frowned. He wasn't much of an astronomer, and didn't recognise... well, anything. Still, Roos would pretend to be shocked and went, far, FAR too over-dramatically,
"WOW! It's er... stars! Weally good work dere Barnsworth! 'oo are promoted from Senior Astwologer to head of Astwology!" Of course, Doctor Barnsworth was still the only astrologer they had, but nobody mentioned that. It might hurt his feelings. So Doctor Barnsworth walked off, grinning and very proud of himself. Zammy however, decided it would be best he explained it...

Kor was rummaging through the files with some of Roos' soldiers.

"I can't believe there have been so many grave robbings, what would an evil moster want with normal bodies..."

Kor thought for a moment, pacing up and down.

"Right, if I was a powerful monster, what would I want with bodies... I'm already strong... I'm already powerful, but what don't I have..."

Suddenly Kor ran over to Roos,

"An army!? Maybe whoever's behind all this wants the bodies to make some sort of fighting force!? I mean, one evil monster may be able to kill a few people, but not take over anywhere significant... that's why you would need an army!"

Kor was quite proud of what he's just though up, although there were some faint memories that that was the plotline to a a horror movie he saw the other day, but Kor didn't care, movies have gotta have some truth behind them...

Roos looked from Kor to Zammy, then back again and scratched his head.
"Okaaaaaay... er... Zammy 'oo go first."

Zammy stepped forward and began,
"Well sire, we have seen a bizarre alignment of the planets and the stars that, according to Doctor Barnsworth, only occurs once every thousand years. It is quite a discovery!" Roos frowned and crossed his arms, before saying,
"And..." Zammy looked confused for a moment, before catching on and saying,
"And we've already called it the millenial Rooslignment, don't you worry." Roos grinned, pleased, and nodded to Kor.

Having listened to Kor's hunch on an army, Roos stroked his chin thoughtfully, sitting down in an office chair.

"Hmm... da millenial Rooslignment happenin' at da same time as dese monsters start showin' up... 'n all this grave-diggin'... Dese are all great clues! We should go find dat old guy we met. But first..." Roos kicked off the ground and spun his seat round in circles, crying,
"Wheeeeeeeeeee!!!"

Kor grinned as Roos span himself around on the chair, but he quickly grabbed the chair and stopped it, causing Roos to fly off.

"Come on, we can spin around on chairs as much as we want when this mess is sorted out, but until then..."

Kor picked Roos up and brushed the dirt off of his clothes,

"...we gotta stay alert and be on guard."

Kor went over to the files, grabbed them, and put them in a safe on the other side of the room. Turning back to Roos he waited for his next orders.

Roos shook his head rapidly and forcefully, getting rid of his sense of dizziness. He nodded in gratitude to Kor helping him back up, then began stroking his chin and pacing up and down.
"Hmmm... I s'pose we c'n trace da signal of dat Old Man. Le's go!" Roos headed for the door, but called back to Zammy and the soldiers,
"T'anks for da help guys, but me 'n Kor gonna do dis on our own nowsies." Zammy nodded and saluted, with all the others.
"Our pleasure and duty sire!"

Roos walked slowly down the mountain path leading out of the observatory, which was positioned at the top of Mount Roosmore, or Mount Soor, it's original name.
Roos concentrated, and tried tracking down the signal of Barnibus. He ran through what he needed to tell him. The bizarre spree of grave-digging and the millenial Rooslignment were top of the list, obviously.

Kor followed Roos down the path, the jagged mountainside was tough under his boots.

"If we want to find this 'Barnibus' guy we need to be quick, we don't know how much time we've got."

Kor hopped over a stone on his decent, admiring the view. He could see his house on the beach near the castle and Roosopia, and unmistakeable bustling town of Roospolis, right at the foot of the mountain.

"If we fly and do a quick scan of the lands, we should be able to detect his power level if we get near enough to him, that's aslong as he's not hiding it... you don't have any other way of contacting him do you?"

Roos shook his head clear. Something was screwing with his senses, and Roos couldn't track Barnibus' signal. probably because he'd only been around him a short while. Instead, Roos decided on a different way of finding him.
"Kor! Le's go to da beach we me' 'im on. Mebbe he still dere!"
Roos took off into the air, without waiting for Kor to answer.

Kor nodded, and before Roos could stop him he lept off of the jagged path down the mountain, plumetting down. Suddenly there was a sound which seemed like an explosion in the distance, and in a mass of flame Kor flew upwards speeding past the mountain face at mach speeds. Rocketing past Roos, Kor spiralled into the sky and quickly he leveled out his flying course and headed straight towards the beach they had been on not that long ago.
