Starlite City, Sandria, Raverita
It was a destination that Gokan Bushino hadn't been to since the dramatic day of the celestial collision, and rightly so considering the havoc that spiraled from the nigh-cataclysmic event. Continents shifted, landmasses appeared out of thin air, others were submerged under water. Hell, some countries, along with their entire populations, appeared in other parts of the world! And that was the simple stuff. Getting in depth with all of the little things that changed, from individuals being in lands that they didn't belong in, all the way up to whole cities being outliers inside of strange countries. Raverita itself was home to a handful of these, most notably two hybrid cities; one a sprawling, majestic metropolis of combined Norian and Raveritan citizenry Francis City, the other just so happened to be the capital of Raverita, Kymeto.
That sort of craziness, on top of the sudden attack by an unknown, alien force, made things strenuous for quite some time. Eventually, the attacking force reached a stalemate with Eden's defenses and went on to retreat and hadn't been seen since. The various nations of the world, old and new, have settled on some sort of peace while they become acclimated with one another. It was a surface peace, however. Localized conflict between Norian and Edenian folk were quite common despite efforts by world governments. Thankfully, things hadn't gotten too out of control.
Yet.
And so, with some semblance of sanity back in the world, the former warrior monk of Terai-Jin once again had free time to live life. Unfortunately, with his girlfriend being the current Vice President of the country, free time was often spent alone. So, instead of sitting home, the Saiyan went on to vist the west coast of the country. And this time, it wasn't to buy shoes. Over the years, Gokan Bushino had become a celebrity in the country he now called home, and managed to befriend a lot of people--and piss off countless others-- in the process. One of his friends, Bradley Cooper, currently made Starlite City home.
Bradley was someone Gokan met during a tumultuous period in Raverita's history, and had been friends ever since. Bradley, a military vet, was on vacation visiting family and friends, and Gokan set out to meet them for a few days of relaxation, sporting events, and fine dining. Not to mention doing all of those in style. Which is why Gokan rented a convertible for the trip.
"Now why the hell does a man who can fly need a damn car?" Bradley asked as he and Gokan exited Brad's highrise hotel as the valet driver brought over an all black, two door convertible.
"I mean, seriously, you can fly. Like, really fly. Legally faster than you're allowed to drive. Owning a car is silly when you're nimble like an airborne motorcycle."
"I bought a motorcycle, too," Gokan replied with a mild chuckle. Managed to get one out of Brad, too. The Saiyan, despite his abiity to fly, liked to keep somewhat of a low profile, and a man flying everywhere tended to attract a lot of attention. He'd be recognized almost instantly everywhere he event, even if his hair isn't as spikey as the country remembered. He wasn't going to bother bringing up his current fluctuations of power that made something even as simple as flight a difficult task. He'd rather conserve his energy.
"Dude, you're really a trip," Brad exclaimed as he smiled, practically giddy to hop right into Gokan's very expensive rental. He moved toward the car and Gokan followed suit, only to stop once a few drops of liquid pelted him on the top of the head.
"Rain? It's a clear sky," The Saiyan muttered, his hand instinctively reaching toward the top of the head to remove the excess moisture. Curiosity getting the better of him, Brad glanced over at Gokan as droplets continued to trickle down on to the head of his friend--one droplet in particular catching his attention as it began to roll down Gokan's forhead.
"Man....that's not rain..."
Gokan redirected his hand from the back of his head and right to his forehead and wiped it dry. Afterward, he glanced down at his hand and was quite surprised to see a smear of red. His brows ruffled in confusion almost immediately, "Blood...?"
Gokan, Bradley, along with any passersby who happened to be as curious as the two were glanced upward in near unison and practically gasped at the same sight: several hundred feet up, an ambiguous figure--likely a body--rested, impaled on an ornamental flag pole that extended from the lavish hotel. As they fixated on that sight, the body of a male teenager came crashing down on to the hood of Gokan's convertible.
And then, half a block away, two more thudding bodies impacted in the middle of an intersection.
And then, one after another, people started to fall from the sky.
