The wind howled across the desert dunes, constantly throwing sand across the barren landscape. It was a night like any other - nothing to be heard for miles except the deafening sound of the sand storm.
And then, within a few moments, everything changed.
Chaos ensued across the planet of Eden, thanks to a sudden pairing with the mysterious planet Noria. Not much had changed in this particular area, though. It was still white dunes for miles and not much else. The noon sun was baking everything that dared to go under it. Indeed, in this area it was almost as if nothing had changed at all.
But, on this day, one feature of one unique mound of sand did change. Buried a few feet underneath this particular sand dune was a metallic object – and not just any regular object, but the body of the Necronic android: Hakuto Inuneo. He had somehow ended up in this wasteland years ago, the dunes slowly engulfing his body over time. He had been motionless the entire time - his eyes open, yet dark and void of any life.
That is, until now.
Underneath the sand, Hakuto’s eyes began to flicker. The inner workings of the android began to brim with energy for the first time in years. The numerous systems in his mind began to slowly turn back on. Hakuto’s right hand twitched underneath the sand, his eyes now a solid red. Broken images of his past flew across his mind. Energy surged throughout his body. His eyes then took their regular form: white with red pupils.
What...Where am I? was the first though to travel across the advanced circuitry of Hakuto’s mind. He had now regained his consciousness. His sensors overloaded him with data as they all fired up to their regular levels of activity, giving him a slight pause.
Why am I in a sand dune? was the second thought to cross Hakuto’s mind. This soon took a backseat to the top priority: getting out of said sand dune.
If anyone were around to see it, they would have surely jumped at the sight of Hakuto’s arm suddenly jutting out of the dune. The rest of Hakuto’s body soon followed as he pulled himself out from his sandy grave. His optical sensors adjusted to the blinding white light presented from the sunlight ricocheting off the nearby dunes. The android brushed off the remaining sand from his black clothing. His gi was shredded and full of holes thanks to the wear and tear of the desert that had swallowed him up. After taking a few more moments to regain his senses, Hakuto attempted a more thorough search of his mind.
What!? screamed Hakuto, shocked at what he had found – or, rather, what he had failed to find. What he had failed to find was any intact episodic memory of his life. Only fragments remained – broken images impossible to decipher or link together in any way.
I must have been incapacitated and lost my memories in the process...But what could have possibly incapacitated me? And what has brought me back?
Hakuto began to explore his banks of knowledge for answers, but nothing was coming up. After a few moments, however, his sensors began to flood him with new data that left a confused look on the android’s face.
This region matches my records for Albandia...but the location is completely off.
That train of thought was put on the backburner, however, when Hakuto suddenly sensed a group of people heading in his direction.
Maybe you will have some answers for me... said Hakuto. With that, he leapt up into the air and flew over to meet the group head on. If he didn’t get answers, he would at least be able to flex his power for the first time.
