The thick plumes of black smoke filled the empty sky with choking gas, small fires still smouldered and burnt in the small green valley, the shattered trees and shards of silver shrapnel were all that remained of the secretive base. Leaning against a tree was a figure, in a loose pale red hooded jacket, zipped up to the neck, the sleeves rolled up to about his elbows and the hood dangling down over his eyes. He leant casually against the tree as he chewed a thumb-nail trying to work out what had happened here. He moved away from the tree and a small crackle of static filled the air, the grass slowly lengthening and straightened under his sneakers as he levitated off the ground, drifting through the air as he landed neatly a few feet from the bulk of the wreckage, a small flash of blue electricity vanished as he shoved his hands into his hoodie's pockets and began to walk deeper into the base.
The smell of burning meat filled the air, cooked carrion scorched by the flames, he sniffed distastefully at the air as he looked for some sign of this places' function. He frowned as he picked up a piece of metal, wires sticking out of it in random directions, it had some words on the front RAG was all he could make out. But he felt a surge of worry as he looked at some of the burning bodies a little closer, covering his mouth and nose with his hand as he did so. Some wore lab-coats, some security uniform, but the majority were a strange skin-tight grey uniform with dark green stripes spreading all the way down it. They all had identical features, mainly human but with an otherworldly quality to them. He grabbed a hunk of rubble and wrenched it off of one of the less wounded bodies wearing the strange uniform. He was still conscious but fatally wounded, his eyes glowed faintly orange and he seemed to be labouring to speak. Shouldering the weight, the hooded man bent down to listen
"He... he's complete. Please... stop him..."" the voice faded but the hooded man had learnt the key thing here. This had been done by someone. This made sense... he was about to leave when he noticed a screen thathad somehow survived the explosion and, more than that, still had information written on it. It told whoever happened to look at it that this base had held
"Project: DRAGON RUSH"
The hooded man swore, blue lightning flashing around him as he shot upwards into the air and streaked towards the nearest town. This was bad...

The town of Geil was renowned for a few things, but one of their greatest treasures was one of the famed Dragon Orbs, the single crystalline orb was resting at their museum as a momento of triumph. The museum's high marble pillars were, at 4:35 on Tuesday, exploded by a mighty rush of orange energy. Emerging from the museum came a figure, wreathed in orange power and wearing a skin-tight grey uniform with dark green stripes running down it. His eyes glowed an eerie orange but other than that he looked nothing like his counter-parts. His bald head was covered in scales in uneven patches, his whole body had minor elongations at key bone joints giving him a slightly alien appearance but, worst of all, he had a smile. The smile of a man who's soul had long since died. Albandia's military were still hours away... but grasped in his hand was the Dragon Orb.
Would this draw any other heroes?
((OOC: I think since Niku originally had one of these I could use this as a thread, anyone is free to join. Even encouraged. Make it so!))
