The vast plains of lifeless wastelands flashed underneath Hakuto's body as he soared high above them. Such a lifeless place was not something you would expect on a planet of so much life. So many warriors come and go from this planet. So many conflicts ensue the planet. It never stops, even for a moment, to take a breather. However, Hakuto's life was taking a metaphorical stop. Questions now constantly flooded his mind:
Are there other Necrons out there? If so, where are they? Why have I not been able to sense them and they not been able to sense me? Will I ever find them or them find me?
Among and around these thoughts, the usual thoughts in life swam around the Necron's mind as well:
What will I do next? What will become of me in the future? What will happen to this planet next?
So many questions floated through Hakuto's mind. They plagued him. They tore his attention away form each other, tearing apart his mind as well. His usual calm demeanor was now gone and replaced by an almost insane one. This was almost as bad as his century of solitude. Except this time he had no time to think or sort out his problems. The planet and the events that happened on it never stopped for even a second to wait for the Necron to catch up with it.
Onward Hakuto went, tearing through the sky like the questions tore through his mind. Then, he suddenly started to fall. A sudden sharp, paralyzing pain shot through his head. It was not that of the questions. It felt like something had invaded his skull and was now crushing his brain. The pain was too much! Hakuto began to plummet, faster and faster. Closer and closer came the hard, unforgiving wasteland below.
Crashing into it with great speed and force, Hakuto's body skidded to a halt after a few tens of meters. The path on which he skidded upon was completely torn up. The earth had cracked into a continuous crator that spread out for five meters all around the android's skidding body. The result was a clear line in the wasteland. Just like the land around his body, Hakuto seemed lifeless.
