"Wha' am it Zammy?" the little red monarch asked sleepily, as he waddled down the long, winding staircase of the Rooswarp Chamber, dragging his purple cloak behind him as he had it draped around his shoulders, a replacement blankie.
"Roos were very bussy 'oo know..." Roos muttered to himself as he stepped off the last metallic stair. In truth, he had just been sleeping, after the four days of brutal training his father, Shuten Doji the Goblin King, had forced him into. Still, the sleep had done him good, and Roos felt better already as he approached his General and his favourite ever invention.
The Rooswarp was a massive, metallic circle, that hummed constantly to itself, and bolts of electricity crackled within it at all times as well. It was ten foot tall and five foot wide, and the complicated machinery that made up the circle was three feet thick. Pipes, wires, metal plates and control panels covered the outside of the circle, but the inside was burned a bizarre orange colour that had always perplexed Roos. Not that perplexing Roos is particularly hard.
Currently, the Rooswarp was crackling and humming a lot more than usual; bolts of blue, green and white crackled the whole span of the circle in every direction, and also along the metallic wires and pipes outside. Zammy stood to the side, pressing buttons on a small podium that housed the Rooswarp's main control unit. When Roos muttered to himself, Zammy looked up, beaming; clearly, Roos' disgruntled demeanour was having little effect on the good mood his discovery had put him in. Whatever discovery it was.
"Roos! Perfect, come over here and look at this." He waved Roos over to him hurriedly, and Roos tottered over obediently, his female Mohawk escort standing at the staircase with her weapon in hands and watching the Rooswarp impassively.
Once Roos had arrived at Zammy's side, his General pressed three buttons quickly, and on the podium's main screen three lines of text suddenly flashed up. Roos, who was thoroughly illiterate but not happy about saying it, nodded to himself and said to Zammy,
"Very gewd Zammy, keep up de good work," before he turned to totter off once more. Zammy however sighed and said,
"Sorry, Roos. These are spatial co-ordinates, chronal co-ordinates, and dimensional co-ordinates. They tell you the relation between whatever place we've found and here in terms of distance, time, and dimension." Roos turned back to Zammy over his shoulder, cocking his head to one side in a gesture of intrigue. Zammy, encouraged by Roos' interest, continued to say,
"This monitor says that the spatial co-ordinates are absolute zero, and so are the chronal co-ordinates. So it's the exact same place and time," Zammy hurriedly explained as Roos squinted at him in confusion, "But the dimensional co-ordinates, which have always been the same so far, have suddenly changed. Normally, they're just one, because there's only one dimension. But this time... it says two."
Roos turned around to fully face Zammy and crossed his arms stubbornly, sighing and saying wearily,
"So dat means..."
"That there is another Castle Comealot, on another Roosland, on another Eden, at this exact same time." Roos paused to let that sink in. Then his mouth slowly opened in shock and he gaped at Zammy's news. An alternate universe! Roos and Zammy shared a grin, then they went to business; exploration.
Roos dictated a great number of letters to Zammy, and he had to write every single one down; including the spelling errors, as Roos refused to have his words written in any other way. These letters were sent all around the world in a variety of ways, mostly to hand-held communication devices, or broadcast on the TV. Either way, the message was directed to all super-powered people on Eden who were, "looking for an adventure";
"'Allo peeps!!
Dis am Roos, de King o' Roosland. 'Oo can get dat from de name, unless 'oo am silly, like 'Niku. 'Allo 'Niku!! Anywhooooo, Roos am askin' 'oo all to come to Roosland 'n see da Rooswarp, 'cos Roos ('n not Zammy) am findin' sumfink really wowie! Am anuffer ooniverse! Dat means 'oo can see anuffer Eden! Roos am gonna go exp'orin', 'n wanna haf friendlies to come wif Roos. Le's goooooo!
From Roos "
The letter was broadcast all over Eden, to everybody, friends and one-time enemies of Roosland; Roos had probably forgotten about any bitterness anyway, and was too excited about his discovery to care. To Roos, all this alternate dimension could mean, was fun!
