(OOC: Chronologically, this thread takes place directly after the fight between Xarius and Carniku resolves itself. I'll let you guys finish that, while Roos finally gets resisting!)
The five Royal Mohawks before him still seemed unneccessary to Roos. Sure, they were armed to the teeth, and definitely able to protect Roos from most threats, but where were they when Xarius went berserk? Roos, who sat at his throne with the five Royal Mohawks assembled around him, wore his purple cape and golden crown as a King, legs crossed on his red velvet seat, and the high-backed, white marble throne, looked surprisingly regal. Except for the massively bored expression he had on his face.
Roos sat at the end of the Great Hall of Comealot, on the slightly raised platform that he had to sit on. At the other end of the hall there were the massive wooden doors that were the entrance to Castle Comealot, and Roos expected his appointment to be turning up through those doors any second now. All along the hall there were portraits of Roos, pulling ridiculous expressions, or looking as normal as he can get. There were also portraits of Count Carniku and Duke Xarius, and Roos again felt guilty about abandoning his two friends. But Roos figured they should solve their own problems, and he would just get in the way. Besides, Inari had remained to keep the peace, so if Carniku couldn't win she would interfere.
He didn't know much about this appointment. Only that they were a fugitive, on the run from pro-registration forces, and leading her own band of fugitives. Roos had already made it public that any who needed santuary from registration could flee to Roosland, where they would be kept safely on Roos' shores, guarded by their elite forces. Roos had religiously made an effort to update himself on all the occurences relating to the registration since he had been missing, and so was fully aware of the massacre tat anti-registraton forces had caused.
Roos had no intention of joining in with these brutal attacks, but neither did he intend to join registration. He would fight against registration, he had no doubts about that, but he needed them to attack first; a point Zamy had made very clear to Roos. He understood that the idea of registration had outraged and, at the same time, terrified Roos as he thought, fairly irrationally, that it might result in the same degrading slavery he had been forced into by Goshun Jen, his old master. Of course, those reasons were far too personal, and not even Carniku knew about them.
So Roos waited, unaware of the fact he had just lead Roosland into a much more dangerous situation it had ever been in before, as they finally took a side in the registration war. Roosland, which had been a state constantly under attack until just recently, had become fairly used to battles. But this might be a battle Roosland can't win, at least, not without help. But first things first; Roos' appointment.
