Trying to focus.

Indigo lied in his bed and flipped through the channels. Cartoons, sports, porno-- nothing worth watching. He reached down to his duffle on the floor and found the tapes of Samyik's matches, and he felt the urge to go out and kill the scalper who overcharged him for them. Normally, he got the tapes from his team, which was always nearby, but after he left the captain with a bloodied head, he doubted they would stop by. So he popped in the tapes, one at a time, trying to make out the techniques through the terrible film quality.
Samyik's traditional blasts weren't a problem, everyone had their own style. But his dimensional gaps made him unpredictable, and his attacks could from any angle.
His technique copy meant that he could use Indigo's abilities against him. Indigo had never faced an opponent who would be so hard to track down and attack. This would be a fight unlike any other. He thought of his strategy, but couldn't think of anything particularly effective. He was too distracted with what happened today. What would the King say if he knew how he felt? Would his team try and drag him off back home, locked in chains, during the night?
There was a knock at the door, and he looked at the distorted form of a bellboy through the spy hole. He undid the deadbolt and opened the door. The bellboy was startled to see a man in shorts, t-shirt, and black mask staring at him, and he slowly handed over a set of tapes. Indigo nodded a 'thank you' and closed the door.
"Great, they sent me the tapes after all. Wasted that money for nothing." He sighed, threw out the old tape in the vcr, and put in the new one. It was much better quality, with better angles, and greater focus on Samyik's movements. "Interesting."
After another hour of watching, Indigo was suddenly in the mood to get up and move. He put on a fresh uniform and stole out the window. He flew all around the complex, jumping from tree to tree, building to building, just to unwind the tension. He experimented with new techniques, ways of attacking Samyik hadn't seen before. The moon rose higher until the clock struck 12, and it was time for him to rest. He had a big day ahead of him tomorrow.
