Drakkar flew off and Captain Generica regained his composure. He stood up, dusted himself off, and wondered at the appearance of the new fighter. "I hope he's on our side. But he must be if he didn't fight me." He brushed aside any other thoughts and returned to his mission. A few hundred yards ahead were Mangellan artillery batteries that needed to be taken out. He stealthily floated around the Mangellan camp, bypassing the guards without detection, and evading the trip wires all over the ground. The artillery was in a small clearing. He abandoned his covertness and charged the emplacements. The stunned soldiers were surprised to see a masked man in green punch a large circular shield through the first gun. It exploded, shrouding the man in smoke. They grabbed their weapons, but couldn't see through the grey, giving him an opportunity to strike the second gun. He shot out from the smoke, decapitating one soldier with the edge of his shield, before punching the second gun like he did the first. The Mangellan troops fired at him from all sides, but the lava-like energy mearly sprayed off of his shield. He spun around, knocking the third gun's barrel off with a spinning heel kick. The soldiers were awed at his strength, only their training kept them firing through their fear.
"Time to end this!!" yelled Captain Generica as he flew high into the air. He flung his large shield at the troops below like a discus. Shrouded in green energy, it buzzed through the soldiers before returning like a boomerang to its master.
By now, the soldiers in the camp were alerted by the explosions and came scrambling to the clearing. Shots went up from the trees, and some of the upper branches were lit ablaze. An energy bubble enveloped the good Captain, absorbing each blast. And then he let loose his shield once again, controlling the disk of energy with his right hand. It weaved through the trees, avoiding the branches while slicing the poor men seeking cover behind them. Only a few remained undetected, and they stayed hidden, afraid to fight. Captain Generica flew back towards the camp and blew it up with some ki blasts, before heading home. The general was supposed to arrive in a few hours.
