((OOC: I'm gonna reboot Carniku's history at some point and this is using the rebooted version (soon to be shown)))
There was a man.
He'd been a boy, but by now he felt mature enough to call himself a man. He was wearing a plain black t-shirt, a few sizes too small so it clung to his body tightly, a few leather straps were tied around his left wrist and a silver chain around his right and rather than fighting trousers he wore jeans ending in converse trainers. He was lying on his back, his jacket folded up under his head to act as a pillow as he stared at the clouds drifting by.
The ground was yellow and barren, rocks covering most of it and a few bordering on mini mountains as a side effect of his training. Watching the abstract shapes in the sky helped him relax and he was soon drifting into sleep... when he heard a crunch.
Well, so much for that idea.
He wearily got to his feet and rubbed a hand through the spiky mess of his hair, he'd cut it fairly recently but that hadn't helped the spiking. He picked his jacket up and casually dusted it down, after all, they needed time to get into position. He finally donned it in a smooth movement and the skull on the back of the dark grey sleeveless martial arts uniform showed it was worn and damaged by age, the hem frayed at every aspect. This man was a student of Skull Kung Fu and he was about to show why his father's fighting style was STILL as good as he'd always claimed.
They at least attempted diplomacy this time around, as the leader of the troops approached him with his rifle loosely cradled, the black body armour was rubber, metal and... something else? It was good stuff anyway, definitely protective. He pulled out a small piece of paper and cleared his throat loudly
"Carniku Inuzuki?"
"Yep"
"We are representatives of the Albandian Government. We request politely that you come with us to be medically examined"
"Thanks for adding politely, it does make me feel more inclined towards it"
"Then... you'll come?" The man looked suddenly thrilled, he'd heard rumours of this being a borderline suicide mission, had he managed the impossible?
"Nope, sorry. I'm still looking"
The leader nodded shakily, his visor hiding any emotion "I... I have to take you in"
"I know... go on, you know you have to" The leader moved as fast as he could, levelling the gun to fire but saw it continued rising past the point he wished as Carniku swept it deftly from his hands. While he was still leaning up to try and snag the gun's butt when he felt the sneaker crash into his stomach armour. There was a snap as the plastic broke and he flew backwards ten feet, bouncing off the ground once before rolling to a halt.
That was a cue for the troops to fire, three of them in a hut on a distant ridge leapt up and squeezed the trigger. Bolts of energy ripped forth, scorching the air in front of them as they fied their barrels and aimed to strike at Carniku's body. They were almost there when blue lightning formed in a sharp angled edge in front of their target causing the bolts to explode prematurely and veer off past him. There were a few crackles of the same energy as Carniku rolled his eyes, looked like his reflexes were still a LITTLE premature. With a slightly reluctant sigh he took a few steps before jogging fully into action, his shoes hitting the ground lightly at a run. The soldiers were readying more shots and fired wildly. The first shot was on target but never connected as Carniku hopped sharply to the right, a large cloud of dust erupting from the disintegrated earth. His pace continued as they fired wildly, unable to hit the running figure half out of fear and half out of his strangely fast movement.
He finally reached their rocky base and sprang upwards, shoes hitting crags and gaps in the rock as he leapt deftly upwards, bouncing off of the various footholds available, near the top he ran short and used his arm for leverage on the hut's window frame, pulling up sharply as he emerged suddenly in front of the three armed men. Despite being well trained, they squealed in panic as he landed in front of them. The guns wouldn't be any use at close range, ignoring their orders, they threw them aside and got ready to use hand to hand techniques. Carniku looked fairly disbelieving, this was probably the worst squad after him yet. The first one tried to throw a deceptive feint punch his left hand changing it's course in the air, Carniku swept the punch upwards with a block and snapped a backhanded punch at the poor man's chin. As he fell backwards into unconsciousness, another attempted a roundhouse to the back of Carniku's skull, rolling with the motion, the young martial artist swept the man's supporting leg out from under him. No matter how good your helmet, landing full on your head took the fight out of you.
The last one surprised him, a wicked grin on his face as he threw a grenade from his safe position behind the door frame. Carniku's eyes widened, a GRENADE!? That'd kill his two friends as well! The grenade detonated in an explosion of plasma and the gleeful last soldier emerged from his hiding place behind the doorframe, the hut was devestated, the walls were made of steel but bent outwards dramatically where the grenade had clearly damaged them. Where was the body though? That was what they wanted after all
"Bad move, man" a voice sighed from behind him. The sound of two unconscious bodies hit the floor, terrified, the man slowly began to turn but was met by a fist mid-way.
There was another denting to the steel walls of the hut.
Carniku marched outside and sighed, fiddling in his pocket as he removed a cell-phone and stared for a few minutes at the contact list
"I'm going to find you guys... count on it" With a dissatisfied sigh, he slipped the phone back into his pocket and wandered away again. Maybe, somewhere, he'd find them...
