There was something strange about this planet, even this very city Generica that he walked through. An ocean of people flowed everywhere, yet he felt a sense of peace. It was nothing like being back home, at least these cities had a somewhat easy layout to follow. Maybe he just felt that it was easy, Zahuro really had no idea where he was going. He should have been contacted weeks ago but he was still waiting about, growing more impatient as the days went by. Although the city seemed peaceful, he felt a feeling of insecurity. His tail had to be wrapped around his waist and hidden from the world. He didn’t know how they would react, one thing he knew was that Saiyan’s were not a common race and he didn’t want to cause any hassle. Making his way down a small alley, he put his back against the wall and looked into the sky, was all of this effort pointless?
“What the hell is going on?” He questioned himself, sitting there like some sort of bum among these beings. Suddenly, a telepathic whisper went through him, Zahuro! It spoke to him, Zahuro was very cautious, anyone could have done that but there was no way for him to telepathically speak back. Go around the corner, quickly! Standing up, Zahuro clenched his fists as he slowly walked around the corner. Suddenly, he was grabbed by the shoulders and pinned up against the wall by a man with a hooded jacket. “Hey, wha-” The man unveiled himself, interrupting Zahuro before he could talk.
“I’m from the dojo back home.” The man said, trying to reassure him. “You’re teacher, Yagoda, has sent a message. One of those…” The man stopped, as if trying to remember his message. “Dragon orbs?” Zahuro said, giving an annoyed expression. The man nodded before continuing on. “Yes, exactly. You’re task is to find one of them and luckily for you it resides in this very continent. Keep a low profile, good luck.” Within a second the man had teleported elsewhere, he was finally contacted and now his job was to go treasure hunting? Pathetic in his own mind but worthwhile to others. All these orbs were just some sort of antiques from years ago, why should he bother collecting them - if they contained some sort of power though, he wanted in on it.
Finding a place to start looking would be the toughest part. Maybe some of the black markets knew about these rare items, no doubt someone has sold it to someone not realizing what they’ve just passed on. Sighing, he turned and made an exit from the alley. He had made some contacts in Eden after his arrival, although they weren’t particularly knowledgeable. If something this big was getting sold around though, they’d be around it like flies. Making his way down a small narrow street, he walked down a few stairs and through a rusty old door. On the other side was a man named Kanu, who run a small shop which sold small antiques and jewellery. He was quite an old guy, quite short. He had windswept hair, his face looked like it had seen thousands of battles. Despite that, his attitude was the opposite of what you’d expect.
“If it aint the ol’ monkey himself!” Kanu shouted, chuckling at his own joke afterwards. “What can Kanu do for ya today then?” He asked, Zahuro glared at him. Finally, he started wandering the small shop, inspecting items as he went by. It was a way of making him feel more comfortable. “I’m looking for something that’s apparently very rare, Kanu” Zahuro was almost nervous to talk about it after being told to keep a low profile. “It’s called: A Dragon Orb?” Suddenly, Kanu almost looked like he was shaking, until he chuckled and made his way around the counter. “A Dragon Orb? Why would you want one of those? Do you know what they can do?” Kanu said, barraging Zahuro with questions. Quite simply Zahuro sighed, this man could talk until the end of his days.
“I don’t know what they do, but you’re going to tell me.” Zahuro stated, slowly getting closer and show a hint of intimidation. Kanu grunted, turning his back to head behind the counter. “There’s five of ‘em somewhere. If you obtain all five you can summon a dragon, who will grant you two wishes. You can wish for practically anything you desire.” Kanu stopped, staring at Zahuro right in the eye. It was Zahuro who now felt a bit intimidated. “Thing is, most people who have ‘em won’t let them go. I know a guy that…erm…yeah, you shouldn’t be lookin’ for power like that. It’ll eat away at ya!” Kanu said, tapping the side of his head with his index finger. Zahuro got closer, this time gripping Kanu by the shirt. This guy was wasting time.
“Kanu, you know I’m a laid back type of guy. But you’re going to finish that sentence and tell me who you knew that has it.” Slowly but surely, Zahuro was gripping his shirt tighter and tighter every second. Kanu frowned, pushing Zahuro away. “Get off me, ya big ape!” Kanu shouted, brushing himself down and fixing his shirt. “Nobuo, the guy that used to sell those swords to the martial artists? He’s supposedly got it. Happy?” Zahuro turned his back, immediately making way for the door. Perhaps being a foreigner around here really was as bad as it seemed. That sense of peace he had, it suddenly deteriorated from him completely.
Nobuo was one of the most stubborn sellers in the whole continent. He’d even try sell you something for double the price, even if it had a price tag on it. Things weren’t looking so good, apparently the guy was good with a weapon too. All of that in one man was a bad combination. Quickly, he strode towards the small corner shop Nobuo owned. It was small, the windows were boarded up and a sign that read ‘Closed’ hung lopsided on the door, if you could call it a door that is.
Zahuro kicked the pieces of wood blocking the entrance, inside was dark, wet and above all smelly. Dust covered the place and Zahuro gave a slight cough as he entered, covering his mouth afterwards. Books lay scattered on the floor, the swords Nobuo originally sold where nowhere in sight. Something had happened to this place, maybe he couldn’t afford to keep the place running. Suddenly, a patter of footsteps got closer to Zahuro, he couldn’t see anything due to the limited light in the place. All of a sudden, someone ran at him holding a sword above their head. “Gyah!” Was shouted like some sort of war cry.
Zahuro stepped aside, elbowed the man in the face and then delivered a sweep and got him to the ground. This quick combination was performed elegantly, he had no idea who this was. “Who are you!?” He questioned, the man squirming. “I’m Nobuo! What do you want with me!?” Zahuro stood up, he’d probably lowered his chances of getting anything out of this guy now.
“Heh, sorry about that.” Zahuro said, trying to apologize. Nobuo stood up, holding his nose as blood trickled out from it. “Yeah, you should be. Thought you were one of them guys trying to steal my stuff or take money from me.” Nobuo took a step back, now able to fully see Zahuro. “What do you want? Nobody comes around here anymore, can’t read?” He said, referring to the closed sign outside. Zahuro cracked a smirk, but that didn’t stop him from disliking this guy. “Look, I got told you have a Dragon orb?” Zahuro questioned, Nobuo sighed and looked at him like he was sympathetic. “I had one, but those thieves that come around here stole it. They usually come back about no-” Suddenly there were several footsteps arriving at the entrance.
“Hey, Nobuo! Guess who’s back!”
“What the hell is going on?” He questioned himself, sitting there like some sort of bum among these beings. Suddenly, a telepathic whisper went through him, Zahuro!
