Asparoukh silently followed Celeste through the city. It was a bit run down, especially after the tremendous battle. Vehicles lay in twisted heaps of metal and the roads were in less than perfect condition. However, most buildings remained untouched by the attacks, since the invaders initially chose military targets. What streetlights were left undamaged flickered on. It was getting dark, and Celeste picked up her pace. Suddenly, she began to speak:
"Not much of a city is it? It was much worse before Musashi showed up. There was so much violence, so many gangs. He really cleaned the place up and gave the kids here hope. I used to be terrified to walk through here during the day, let alone the night, now it is much safer. The dojo that he set up really did put the youth on the right track. He really was a great man."
Celeste's voice began to strain as she spoke. The wounds inside still hurt.
Asparoukh smiled slightly, "Yes, well I'm sure that his essence will carry on in the hearts of the people here. My sensei once told me that a teacher never dies. His spirit always lives on in his students and the lives that he has touched." The Kouberian hoped that these words would calm her spirit. They seemed to work as she stopped and turned toward Asparoukh. She smiled faintly. Her eyes were glistening from a nearby streetlight.
"Well, I certainly hope that your sensei is right," she said. Celeste took in another deep breath.
"This is the place," Celeste said, pointing toward a tall building on the right. It seemed rather together for the town. "The apartment is on the sixth floor," she continued. "It's the first door on the left as you leave the stairwell. Use this key for the front door and the other one for the apartment." She handed the keys to the Kouberian. "There is one bed in there and a refrigerator with some food. You'll have all of the basic amenities. I would show you up to the room, but I really must be getting back home to my father. Goodbye.”<br>
Celeste turned around and walked down the street.
“Thank you, Celeste,” Asparoukh shouted after her. She stopped, turned around, and smiled. Then she quickly resumed walking home.
