Pain.
an ocean of it, relentless waves of beating torment that slammed into his body and soul, over and over...ceaseless. his sight saw nothing, his senses found no single feeling, nothing discernable but for that agony as he was ripped from one world to another...
...discarded.
he was flung...hurtled over...the ground, a soft green grassland that may as well have been shards of broken crystal for the comfort it brought. hit it...rose...again and again...finally coming to rest upon his back, eyes blurred, body wracked with a numbing chill...
beheld the black liquid sheet of a portal as it slowly dissapated...was gone.
...free...
his mind barely registered the thought, was it his or the other's? did it matter?
a new pain took him as he shot forward, hands upon his throat, choking as he coughed, painfully. lungs raggered torn clothe in his chest as black bile shot from his mouth.
this air was clean. far cleaner than that of the Demon Realm, no smoke and ashe marred its presence, no soot coated its purity. this went on for an endlless age, till finally, with a deep broken gasp he found his breathe once more.
savored it.
'Gelah nalkor dereg serad nagtos belfone..'
he wheezed, his voice deeper and more haggard than usual, the demon tongue he spoke more sinister for it.
'...couldn't of said it better myself old boy...'
the voice was Simion's his 'companions', if such a word would describe having a demon parasitically bound to your spirit. he'd almost hoped the jump would of loosened him from it. Simion's tone was one of feigned shock and hurt as it danced within his mind.
'...how can you say such a thing to me oh flesh of my home? was it not i who found that portal for you, who told you how to leave that my 'precious' home?...'
Seth chuckled, 'don't get all righteous on me Simion, we both know you wanted out as badly as me. or have you forgotten Tarrian's price on MY head because of YOU.'
'...techinicalities Kain my eternal friend, technicalities...' he could feel the Demon's smile inside his mind. '...shall we take a look at our new home then?...perhaps it is the one that houses your precious family...' it seemed to shiver inside him '...i can feel the 'love' of those memories inside your little mind and it is quiet ...uncomfortable...'
'yeah well having you INSIDE my head for the past ten years hasn't been a ball for me either.'
he rose slowly, tentively, body quacking lightly as he faught to hold his balance. a leather gauntlet clad hand quickly rose to meet his spinning head, he felt the red ruby, cool against his skin, as the palm pressed to his forehead. thin fingers ran through his shoulder length black red lined hair as crimson brown eyes surveyed the flat plain he now rested upon from within handsome features. he felt the breeze for the first time, cool and welcome as it cresendoed, causing his leather jacket to lap lightly against his black long pants and finely engraved belt. his black boots caked with the dirt of the Demon Realm still, marring the delicately etched vines that were engraved upon its surface.
'where are we?' his voice was a soft whisper, now once more its own calm seductive charming dirge.
he felt the familiar tug as Simion left his form, not fully though, never so, a small red cord that joined them now sprouted from Kain's lower back. a spirit manifistation mind, there was nothing physical about Simion. his thin specteral body, legless with two long skinny arms and four lithe fingers, a featureless thin face but for the jade eyes gazed out about the world.
'...how...green..' he breathed, tone full of distaste.
'i could of left you back in the Demon Realm if you wanted.' Seth grinned, glancing sideways at the Demon.
'...oh no, this will do my friend...quiet nicely...' his voice was unconvinced.
Kain cracked his neck lightly from left to right, body now stiff as the pain was replaced by a low aching. stretched lightly as he did so feeling a pang of hunger strike him.
smiled.
real food. he could now finally eat real food again, no more of that bileish green goop and Gallog flesh. but vegetables, fruits, milk, coffee. how he prayed this world had those things.
'...don't do that...' Simion eyed him '...you know i hate it when you do that...'
the demon seeped back into Kain, took his place once more in his mind, that voice, always present...always talking.
'...shall we?...'
with that Kain rose lightly into the air, smiled at all the green rolling hills and blue cloudless skies his eyes beheld, the pleasures of the wind upon his skin, the coolness of the climate. the lack of volcanoes and flames and heat that had haunted him for this past decade. closed his eyes and focused, determined to find...
...people.
it had been to long since he had had the company of another human, another soul, how lonely it had been in that desolate place...
'...thank you very much you ungrateful...'
he ignored Simion's voice, his own kind...
