It was a typical hot, summer day. The sky was clear and the sun was high in its full, radiant splendor. The tide lapped gently against Roosland's shoreline, while further out to sea a school of jellyfish floated lazily along the current. Under any other circumstances, this would have been a perfect day for beach balls, big umbrellas, and relaxation. However, it was also the day after the heated debate in King Roos's court, and a UN naval task force was on its way.
There were three ships total, all of which were fast cruisers designed specifically for circling small islands and pounding them with missiles and cannon fire. The task force had entered the seas around Roosland north from the Medaxial via a route that took it dangerously close to the Juin-controlled Western Continent. This was in order to avoid detection by Roos Dagger and strike at Roosland directly. Then, when they came within ten miles of the island, they unleashed the full wrath of their arsenal. Long-range missiles came raining over Roosopolis, their smoking tails visible for miles as they rose and fell in wide arching trajectories, while cannon fire instantly annihilated homes and small buildings on the coast.
While their missiles and cannons continued to scream destruction, the task force didn't stop to admire its handiwork. They continued steaming west, away from the island, firing all the while. Any military expert would have realized by now that this was no cursory show of force. This small battle group was only the tip of the lance. If Roos Dagger had any form of radar, they would have soon noticed a much larger fleet approaching-- 15 vessels strong, including two battleships and an aircraft carrier. Then, instantly, dozens of smaller blips appeared everywhere. An airborne squadron of Android Pi's came swarming out of the carrier, bound for Roos Dagger, while a group of four was heading straight towards Roosopolis.
Captain Generica, undetectable to radar, personally led the team of androids straight towards the capital. Also with him was Fajita, the armor-clad Saiyan who had once been one of Eden's most powerful villains, but who had since reformed. Now, together, the former arch-enemies were heading straight to into Roosland, the heart of the Resistance, where they knew their greatest enemies were laying in wait for their arrival.
Meanwhile, the three ships that made the initial assault wheeled around, coming in for a second run.
