It had been decided.
Not a single being in the history of Eden could ever have prophecised what was going to take place tomorrow. It was as if Indigo was a judge himself and the matches were all set.
The final match was between Garin and Gage.
The two Juins had triumphed over many adversaries only to come face to face with each other in the last match. The good news: a Juin would take home the prize; the bad news: the match could have no real winner. Gage had decided, before the tournament even started, that he wouldn't have to face his friend.
Of course, that's when he thought he wouldn't have to face Indigo. In a sense, he didn't.
What are the odds of this happening? No way, in God's name, could this have happened. The only two Juin fighters left facing each other in the final match...
He was losing himself in his thought. He knew what he was up against much more than his opponents were, but they had lost so there was no real way of telling. Nothing was for certain except for the fact that both warriors, Juins, would go all out. Gage looked up at the television at his new VIP training room. On the screen was his face. A minute later it faded and Garin's was there. The announcer went on about the same stuff that he was thinking at the moment.
"...and it seems that Juin breeds the best fighters!"
If he only knew...
Gage had given all he had--or at least most of it--to barely pick up a win on Omen. Or had he beaten him by a landslide? It seemed that he was only fighting his opponent because of a coin toss.
"...and the favorite to win the match is Indigo..."
Of course. It had to be him, he had gotten runner up last year. He had barely lost to Samyik, the Msayan that seemed to hate Saiyans.
Wait... no he hadn't...
This was a new person. He was no where near Indigo's strength. He was Indigo's sidekick. There was no way that a person who followed the runner-up of last year could possibly win the tournament the next. But the sad fact was that he could.
Gage turned the gravity up to four-thousand times that of Eden's natural pulling and let the sweat flow. He was going beyond anything he had ever done. With a Sensu bean in his pocket, nothing would stop him from getting stronger. This training would have to do it; Garin was strong.
Going over to the weight set, he just benched the bar. At 4000g even the small 45 pounds seemed like a million. However, 180000 was enough to impress anyone...
He pumped it and pumped it and pumped it again. His body ached, but still he continued to train. Using no mind psychic powers, Gage lifted it. Garin was a good psychic--maybe not as good as Gage, though. The battle would be won by brawn.
But what about Ki abilities?
Nearly three and a half hours later, the training was finished for now. Instead of using his last Sensu bean, Gage took a nap in the rejuvination chamber. No one could disturb him besides the hotel manager.
Or Garin.
