The plane bearing the allied fighters surged over the Gulf of Lemon, never noticing or suspecting the Juin fleet located directly below it. While the vessel crossed the immense body of water, the Juin fleet revealed itself, and took up positions over the ocean.
The first signs of trouble appeared when the plane neared the shores of the central continent. Suddenly the aircraft’s scanners lit up with thousands of sea-based contacts, the Juin fleet arrayed in all its glory. The second indication of trouble was short to follow, as the plane’s instruments detected the launch of two Juin fighter that streaked skywards only twenty-five nautical miles from the transport’s current position. The Juin vehicles obviously intended to herd the plane back to its origin, but the general sat in the cockpit behind the pilot’s on, despite their lack of weapons or maneuverability.
There were moments of tension completely unknown the warriors in the passenger section of the vessel as the aerial standoff continued. The Juin pilot’s showed great discipline, and flanked the transport vessel, intent upon reversing it’s course, but the allied pilot flew stoically forward despite their flared warnings.
The standoff was broken once the plane reached solid land. The Allied airbase was near the shore, and the plane began to sink downwards, when suddenly the pocket dragons faded back, almost as if they would let the plane set down, when suddenly the entire airframe shuddered and bucked violently as the left two engines were vaporized by Juin cannon fire. The pilot’s struggled for control and tried to guide the yawing vessel to the strip but without the engine power it was coming down too hard, bouncing and crushing its landing gear and skidding across the tarmac in a wave of flames. The plane slammed into a solid bulwark before creaking to a stop, slamming everyone inside against a wall and causing instant blackout as the fire rolled throughout the vessel.
When the warriors awoke, they were in a small conference room, which had been filled with impromptu benches. When they stirred a tall, tough looking adjutant strode forward and walked directly to Bryce, who had come to the quickest. The man snapped quickly to attention and threw a precise military salute before beginning his report, ”Sir, You were shot down while enroute to this base by fighters from a Juin fleet that has assembled off the shores of the Central Continent. All the warriors made it out ok, thanks to their physical toughness, and the chassis armor but the general was hurt badly and will be in the medical bay for some time I fear. Before he went under, he gave specific instruction to yield control of all allied military on the Central Continent to you Sir. We have quite a situation, the Juin fleet has blockaded the entire continent, and there is some sort of fighting going on in the mountains north of here. From our reports it appears to be some sort of paramilitary base, but it isn’t one of ours. Your orders Sir?
With this the man waited, a picture of military efficiency. Whatever actions or inactions Bryce decided to take, the man would have the orders implemented quickly and would take care of all the necessary details.
