While debate roared globally across Eden like a great beast finally unchained, tearing through everyone's TV screen at home, in public auditoriums, or simply in the mind of an opinionated citizen, Roos stood upon the misty summit of a great mountain range, his hands thrust into the pockets of his jeans, millions of miles away from his home, a home that no doubt needed him. Sighing sadly, Roos watched the back of his guide's head as he strode before him.
Glancing to his right, he looked off the steep mountain path he'd come from to the "white room". From up here, the only way one could see where it was, is if this person knows exactly where it is and what they're looking for. With the right eyes, there is a faint shimmer on the land, but otherwise all you'd see is the same cerulean sea one would see where ever else they looked from up here. The grey mountain path Roos had walked up seemed to have risen out of this endless sea, as if from nowhere.
The blue stretched out to the horizon with no stop, but this was just one side of the mountain region. The other side of this stretch of great stone giants appeared to be dominated by bright green fields and dark green forests, with a few lakes and rivers scattered, and seemingly no sign of civilisation.
Mr. Spring-Heel and Celia had remained at the white room, in case anymore of those monsters appeared, who seemed to be hunting Roos.
"This beast is a demon y'see, sworn to the service of the bloke huntin' ye Roos. But I'm afraid I can't tell ye anymore than that..." Roos frowned as he remembered Mr. Spring-Heel's explanation, and looked a little sad at the teary goodbye from Celia, followed by the kiss on his fore-head she'd given him.
Mihon had volunteered to accompany Roos on the next step of his journey, guiding him through the mountains and the wilderness because he knew it best, and Mr. Spring-Heel, boss of the white room, couldn't leave. He had however sent out his servant, Jacques, the snake butler, despite his protests. This snake butler was currently coiled around Mihon's neck, grumbling to himself as they walked.
So standing behind his two new companions, Roos wondered how he'd ended up here, and where he was going. Mr. Spring-Heel had said they were on another realm- not that Roos understood what a realm was anyway. But he did understand they weren't on Eden now and, unless he finished whatever adventure he was here for, he would never get back there.
"Mihoooooon..." Roos called after his companion, still looking out to the distance, along the azure waters that stretched eternally to his right.
"Yes Roos?" Mihon answered over his shoulder, but not slowing his pace.
"Wha's on de uva side of de mounties?" Roos asked, nodding his head towards the massive stone giant that were built up on their left side, in another never-ending series of geographical wonders.
"On the other side of these mountains, there's a massive city. That city is the only city of Goblinland, and it's the capital, called Doji City."
Roos, who was only used to place names that had the word Roos in it, found Doji City quite confusing.
"Why's it called dat?" he asked Mihon, looking at the back of his guide's head. Still without turning, Mihon replied,
"It's the name of the Royal Family. But I probably shouldn't tell you anymore than that..."
[glow=green,2,300]"PROBABLY?!"[/glow] Jacques cut in, his voice the perfect level fo indignance and outrage, with a very strong accent, [glow=green,2,300]"M'sieur Spring-'eel ordered us not to say a word! Not even to questions!"[/glow] Mihon rolled his eyes then finally turned round, apologetically to Roos, who was frowning at Jacques' outburst. Why couldn't Roos know what was going on?
"Hold." A voice suddenly said, although the source could not be seen. Mihon froze and, with a slight tremble in his voice, yelled out,
"Whos' there?!" Then out of nowhere, an eight feet giant appeared, his skin a bright crimson, and his long swept back hair that reached his waist in a snow-white shade. His eyes shone a keen cat's eye yellow, but his face is set grimly, and emotionless. He wears loose and baggy white trousers, with no shoes, and two spikes shoulder-pads with long leather straps crossing in an X-shape at his chest and along his back. His hands were covered by fingerless white gloves, and they rested at his sides, clenched tightly into fists.
"I am here to test the prince."
Before Mihon could respond, he was suddenly hurled off of the side of the mountain path, as if by nothing. Jacques leapt off of Mihon's shoulders and landed on the ground, looking over the edge and calling after Mihon. Roos stepped up, glaring at the giant in front of him.
"Who am 'oo?!"
"He is Kekeri Katon," another voice spoke, a quivering, ancient voice that sounded as if it concealed a hidden strength, but overuse could snap it, "and I am Teteri Taton. It's a pleasure, Roos!" This second voice belonged to another red-skinned, white haired stranger, descending from the sky while sitting on a floating golden disc. He was wearing a shapeless grey robe, ornamented with a couple of swirling designs in white, and a collar of bright gold around his neck. He also wore large crescent moon spectacles, and his hair was fading fast, only the bare remnants hanging on around the sides and back of his head. His wizened old hands were wringing together in his lap, and his legs were hidden in his robe.
Mihon then re-appeared, standing next to Roos with his arms crossed and his eyes shining a bright orange colour. Orange bolts of energy crackled across his body, in the exact same manner as Carniku's own Epsilon Field.
"Ah, so they sent you two. I'm not surprised. By the way, I've always wondered, are you guys actually related?"
"Don't be dumb!" Roos cried, before those beign questioned could actually say anything, "His name is K, and his name is T! 'Oo is so silly... 'oo really are 'Niku's bruvva..." Roos said sadly, shaking his head in a way that looked both ashamed and, to everyone else, incredibly hypocrtical.
[glow=green,2,300]"Well, 'e does 'ave a point..."[/glow] Jacques piped up, coiling around Mihon's leg as he spoke.
The old man, Teteri Taton, coughed then, in a way to regain attention to himself and his companion.
"No, we aren't related, but we are here to test you, Roos." Mihon then looked up, as if remembering a task he had to do.
"Oh, right! OK Roos take the big guy, we'll take the old one!" Then Mihon kicked off the ground with sudden speed, causing Jacques to yelp in surprise. Teteri Taton flew backwards on his golden disc, then took off up further into the sky, bombarding Mihon with blasts of bright red Ki, that he barely dodged or cancelled out with his own orange attacks.
Roos watched the other pair acend, then looked across to Kekeri Katon, realising he had been left alone with the eight foot tall mountain of red-skinned, Goblin muscle.
"So... 'oo is a Gobley huh?" Roos asked nervously, trying to make conversation while wondering what exactly he was meant to do. Kekeri Katon however just nodded, and Roos looked around for a distraction.
"Whenever you are ready, Prince." Roos blinked in surprise at Kekeri Katon, then asked,
"Prince? Wha's dat?" Without an answer, Kekeri Katon suddenly appeared directly in front of Roos and, with a backhand slap, knocked him off the mountain path over to the ocean. Roos, was sutnned, then recovered midair and in a rage charged into the giant, ramming his shoulder into his chest and pushing him against the mountain wall. Then Kekeri Katon smiled and said,
"That is the Prince." Followed up by a sudden uppercut, right into Roos' jaw, propelling him back out into open air. So the test begins.
