(OOC: Continued from Roosland- Origins)
Roos frowned up at the green-skinned, orange-haired snake that was above him, then sat up, the snake slithering away as he did so. He was a fairly short snake, with dark green scales and a light green under belly. His orange hair was like the mane of a lion's though, and his forked tongue was a bright silver. But that wasn't the most bizarre thing about him. He was wearing a tuxedo jacket, but with no sleeves, and a white tuxedo shirt beneath it, again lacking sleeves. An inky blue bow-tie was tied at his neck, completing this nigh impossible appearance.
Still sitting, Roos looked around his new location. He was in a huge room- dotted with huge marble pillars, decorated the most beautiful and abstract paintings in the history of creation. The floor was a perfect white, ceramic tiles all connected together, but in varying shapes. There wasn't a single flaw between the pyramid and the crescent, or any other random shapes linked together at Roos' naked feet. The walls, too, were a shining white, and the marble pillars shone from the reflection of the floor and walls. The ceiling was made entirely out of glass, and outside Roos could see it was night-time here. Where ever here was, Roos reminded himself.
And then there were the people. If the room seemed to stretch to infinity, then all of infinity had come to eat here. There were grey marble tables everywhere, and grey stone thrones in varying numbers seated around them. But these plants and tables had vines and plants coiled round their legs, and if Roos had been brighter, he would've realised this furniture had quite literally grown out of the floor at his feet.
The people in the restaurant all looked human enough, with a few odd colours of skin here and there, maybe some scales, extra appendages- but they were all humanoid in appearance. They were all dressed in immaculate white- the men in white buttoned up shirts, white suit pants and white laced shoes, the women in white dressed that reached varying lengths, and white high-heel shoes. They were all talking, but in hushed tones, making a low hum of conversation the first thing Roos hears, after his rude awakening by the butler snake. Some were eating, but it appeared that most of them were being polite and waiting for something.
Having taken all of this room in, Roos turned to the snake at his side, who was still smiling politely, his silver tongue shooting out occasionally, and Roos asked,
"Is I crazy?" The snake made a "tut tut" noise and said,
[glow=green,2,300]"AM I crazy."[/glow] Roos glared and stuck his tongue out at him, replying,
"Roos asked firs'!" The snake butler seemed to take this as a personal attack, blinking in outrage at Roos, his yellow eyes beginning to glow ominously. However, before the snake butler could do whatever he was thinking of doing, a hand suddenly patted him on the head.
"I wouldn't if I were you, Jaques. He is Mr. Spring-Heel's cousin." A melodious voice cautioned the snake, and Jaques stopped blinking in shock.
[glow=green,2,300]"You mean he's..."[/glow] Roos looked up at his saviour, who nodded, and Jaques was suddenly kissing Roos' naked feet, begging for forgiveness.
"Dat's 'K... No prob'." Jaques began weeping in a pitiable way, and coiled around Roos' left leg, complimenting him for his sympathy and pity.
"Enough, Jaques. There are people here." the stranger said, and the snake butler seemed to remember himself, and slithered away into the endless crowd.
Roos watched the snake go, then stood up to his mysterious saviour. She was only a foot or so taller than him, with luscious black hair that reached her shoulders. She was wearing a white dress like every other woman there, but her's had no sleeves on it, and her hands were held at her waist as she smiled beautifully down at Roos. He frowned in confusion, then something clicked in his memory.
"Celia!" he cried. She had been Carniku's love interest... until Jojizu had killed her. "Wha' 'oo doin' out of da ground?" Celia chuckled, pleased at Roos’ recognition of her, and amused at his tactless description of her demise. She motion for him to follow, and then began to explain that Roos had been transported into the Otherworld, where people go when they pass away.
“Does dat mean Roos am dead?” he asked her, and she turned around, tugging at his hoodie and saying,
”If you were, you wouldn’t be dressed in such bright colours. Now come along, we have a dinner date.” Roos looked up at her in confusion at this, but followed her into the tides of tables anyway.
Celia lead him through the maze of furniture without a glance at any of the tables they passed, her back straight and her arms at her side. There was a look of defiant authority on her face- one that Roos hadn’t seen when she was alive- which would understandably put off anyone approaching her. But the white-clothed people didn’t seem to be interested in her anyway; Roos felt the pressure of eyes following his every move as he followed Celia, his hands in his pockets and glancing round at the eager eyes scanning him. While Roos was making eye contact with this crowd, he hadn’t realised they’d actually left the massive sea of tables, until he had ran out of people to watch. Then Celia suddenly stopped, and Roos stepped to her side, looking up to her warm smile as he did so.
Celia had led him in front of a rectangular table with two people sat behind it. This table was just like the other organic furniture in the room, and the two chairs behind it were exactly the same as well. On the table-top there was a small golden gong, and the gong’s beater was in the hand of the man directly in front of Roos. He was about the same size as Roos, although in the throne he appeared taller, and he was sat back in a relaxed way, his feet resting on the edge of the table, and his right hand twirling the gong’s beater between his fingers with skilful dexterity. His skin was a pale green colour, kind of like mint, and his hair was a tangled mess of bright blonde, falling down past his shoulders, but combed back off his face so it fell mostly to the right side. He had a large, hooked nose, and yellowing teeth which all appeared very sharp and violent. His eyes were a bright violet colour, like Roos’ own, and he was clad in a bright green suit jacket and trousers, with a crisp white shirt beneath his jacket, the first two buttons undone. He also wore a pair of huge yellow and red coloured shoes, and on the bottom of these shoes a steel spring was wound very tight. He was also wearing white gentleman’s gloves and a sickly grin on his face. There was something amiable, yet malicious, about this appearance.
“Roos, meet Mr. Spring-Heel Jack. Your cousin.”
The other person behind the table was wearing the same clothes as everyone else, and had neatly combed brown hair, a little long though, swept across to the left side. His eyes shone a very bright blue, and he smiled at Roos and Celia. He looked to be about twenty or so, and his shirt was just a white vest, with no sleeves, and he was wearing white jeans and sneakers.
"So this is Roos! How've you been treating my brother?" Roos cocked his head to one side in confusion, not knowing who this strange man was referring to.
"This is Mihon, Carniku's brother from Earth."
Roos made a long sound of recognition, when suddenly Mr. Spring-Heel clapped loudly and leapt up onto the table, picking up the gong as he went and yelled in a shrill voice,
"BEGIN EATING!" Food appeared out of nowhere on all the tables, cinluding this one, along with cutlery and napkins. Two chairs also sprouted from the ground behind Roos and Celia, and they sat down, Roos a little carefully.
"Now then, Roos, my dear, dear cousin," Mr. Spring-Heel began, "Us four have a job to do. I know it has been many years, and I have changed my appearance, since last we met."" Roos frowned at this, and looked up at Celia, who smiled at him, then nodded towards Mr. Spring-Heel again, a subtle way of telling Roos to listen.
"You see, Roos, this..." he looked up over the crowd from his chair, having sat down again once the food arrived, as if to assure himself everyone else was busy,"This is my true appearance." In a flash, his skin suddenly turned a bright red and his blonde hair flashed into a shock of white. Roos leapt up with a yelp, and Mr. Spinr-Heel grinned then turned back to normal. Bizarrely, nobody looked to see why Roos had yelped.
"'Oo look jus' like me!" Roos cried, pointing at Mr. Spring-Heel is an almost accusing manner.
"Of course I do, Roos. After all, we are both Goblins!"
