A new beginning

Mirakel smiled and gave her a wink. "Ah, yes it is nice, and I paid a price that was shrewed yet fair. Now, no offence Maria, but even after swimming about in the lake, the both of us are in desperate need of a bath. SO, I will let you bathe first, and duck in after I've unpacked and sorted some things."

He went inside and grabbed one of the smaller towels and sat at the foot of the bed, waving his hand over at the pack. It lifted itself from the wall and floated over to Mirakel's side, the flap flipping up for him to reach deep inside. "I need to polish and clean a few things. Lemme know when you're done, and we'll go get some new clothes and shoes and stuff." He waved the towel about nonchalantly, "I don't expect the need to stay a night or two."

Maria looked around then scratched her head. "well that would be nice to take a bath but.. um unless some one plans on cleaning and drying my clothes while im in there i have nothing else to wear.. unless you want to see me walk around in a towel down the street." she laughed a bit at her last comment she could just see the expression on his face

He'd turned beet red, just the very idea of her walking around in anything less than what she was already wearing almost immodest to his mind. "No no, we'll wear what we have until we find something else, then we'll probably find a cleaners somewhere around here, okay?" He tried to hid his face from her until it could cool, but he couldn't do it and play it off, so he just sat there, rubbing a special oil onto the gravity belt.

He pulled out some soap that he had to use, all the others too soft for his tough skin. Soft though it was, he was used to the harsh desert rays, and he needed to exfoliate more than the normal person on this planet. "Take your time Maria."

Mariia sighed and shruged heading inside the bathroom closeing the door behind her. she took her clothes off setting them on the floor by the door in a small basket and started the water for a bath. Making sure it was nice and hot she filled the tub and steped in, even dunking her head in the water a few times. feeling her whole body relax she closed her eyes and just sat there enjoying the feeling of the water. it was a while before she actualy started washing her self. about a hour or so later she came back out dressed her hair a bit wet looking but it wasn't dripping.

when she emerged, he nodded and put his belt back into the pack. He was sure he wouldn't need it where he was going. Giving her a nod and telling her he won't be long, he shut the door and filled the tub once again. He quickly undressed and before he dipped into the steaming waters, he opened the door and stuck his hand out, the soap laying on the bed literally flying to his hand. "Pardon me." He said quickly.

Finally slipping into the bath, he scrubbed himself with that special soap and dried off really well. In Albandia, the sun and heat would dry you off just as well as any towel, but here, one could have wet hair for an hour before it was completely dry, and he hated wet hair. Efficient and expedient in all his libations, he returned with a healthy glow to his tanned skin, and a shining smile. "Well, shall we go eat or get clothes first?"

her hair was compleatly dry when he came out she was messing with her hair in the mirror when he was done. "it dosn't matter to me. when we get back i might wash up again i don't know.. it felt good to relax for once so we can go get something to eat and see what we can find if the shops are still open when were done or other way around its mostly your money so your choice."

Mirakel gave her a quick nod and picked up his coin purse, making a motion for her to follow him out the door. "Well, if that's the case, then lets get something to eat. I don't know about you, but I'm ravenous, and could use some meat." Grabbing the room key, he waited for her to exit before locking the door and dropping the small metal bauble into his pocket. "You... DO eat meat right?"

Maria looked at him like he was crazy as they headed out of the room and down the hall. " um are you ok hun you didn't inhale to much of that cleaning stuff you were useing were you??" she laughed a bit. " of course i eat meat you forget what i am that fast??" she laughed a bit harder but to her self mostly.

He looked back at her with a confused expression written clearly across his face. It wasn't until she started laughing and reminded him that she was a dragoness that his confusion melted into a smirk. "Oh yeah, I TOTALLY forgot." He shrugged as he collected their shoes and slipped his on, wriggling his toes to make sure they fit. "Actually, honestly I did. I mean, we've spent so much time together the fact that you're a dragoness doesn't really phase me anymore."

Standing, he handed her her shoes and waited for her. "I mean... you're a good friend of mine, and what race you are really makes no never mind to me."

Maria smiled and shook her head slightly taking her shoes and putting them back on. "well i didn't really mean it like that like what i am matered or anything just ment that of course i eat meat it just seemed like a silly question that you had to ask in the first place. But never mind that lets just get a move on im starting to relize that im hungrier than i first thought."

Mirakel nodded and led her into the bar and restaurant across the main road from the inn. It was perfectly situated, considering the hotel didn't have any kind of food services. The smell of roasting meats of varying types wafted across their noses, and his mouth watered. "The feeling is mutual."

Maria followed him into the restaurant and sighed, the smell of the food made her stomach growl. she sweared that that it was loud enough for him to hear since he was the closest to her thought she doughted it and hoped he didn't hear it. she gave him a embarased smile and scratched her head " well i hope we hurry up and get a seat im starved."

Mirakel entered through the open doorway and was immediately confronted with several clashing scents at once, though perhaps it might make for an okay dining experience. The air was filled with the smell of pipe smoke and cigarette smoke, but it wasn't chokingly so, letting enough fresh air through to make it bearable. Alcohol and food were abundantly present, and with the latter laced with meats and grilled vegetables, he was sure to grab a seat close to the kitchen.

When he reached the best table, he pulled out Maria's seat for her before going to his own, as was only proper, or... so his mother had taught him. He smiled at her and rubbed his own belly, which gave a squeal of hunger, not quite so audible as his companion's, but still quite noticable. "Excuse me," he said with a small blush. A minute or so later, a waitress came forward with a few options for their repast.

"Evenin' gents. Welcome, can I get you something to drink? We've several kinds of ale, a special berry cordial only offered at this time of the year, or perhaps something else? We also have to eat tonight special cut slabs of steak or fish, mashed taters with garlic, grilled vegetables, and if you feel you have enough room in your burstin' bellies, we've a cake to finish it all off." Mirakel simply smiled.

"I'll have the cordial and the dinner. Steak please."

Maria sat down in the chair he pulled out for her and looked around at the various people that were in there until the waitress asked for their order. she listened to what they had to offer and smiled at Mirakel's decision. " that sounds good i would like the same in fact seems that you read my mind Mirakel"

The bouncy wastelander winked at his companion and tapped his temple several times for emphasis. "We saiyans are a crafty bunch. You never know what kind of tricks we've got hidden up our sleeves." he cackled evilly and rubbed his hands together, leaving the waitress to giggle as she skipped happily away, dodging the reaching arms of drunken patrons.

Mirakel inspected the place they'd chosen to eat, and nodded to himself before turning back to Maria. "So, we've had quite a few nasty experiences havn't we? I must say, that your first impression of our world certainly wasn't a happy one, but I admire how quickly you jumped into the fight to save Eden. It seemed you leapt from the frying pan and into the fire, risking your life with almost lethal indifference. Why? Why risk yourself for our cause?"

she sighed and looked down at the table for a bit before looking back up at him. "well you have a point now don't you jumped out of one dangerous situation into another. well at first i hadn't thought abouti t but i was in a strange place and knew know one when you two talked to me and didn't try to rob me or anything i thought i would folow you for now. hearing that you were after something that could be part of a plan to attack the planet i decided to help if i didn't then it would have affected me some times later and it seemed you could use any help you could get, besides i felt like i needed to keep busy to keep my mind off of what happened at home."

Mirakel nodded, her logic quite simple to follow, wholly unselfish, and admirable to almost the highest degree. He reached out and held her hand, not in a romantic way, but as one friend to another. "Maria... I am deeply sorry about your home planet and what happened on it. I sincerely wish there was something I could do, some way I could give you back your life, instead of having to fight in a war that never should have been yours in the first place."

He looked down at the table for only a moment before continuing. "No matter what happens to either of us, whether we travel together for years or are forced to split company in the too-near future, I just want you to know how glad I am for having you as a companion and a friend."

Maria looked at his hand when it touched hers then looked back up at him. she smiled slightly at what he was saying and even blushed a bit. he was such a sweet guy and no one really talked to her like that before so all she could do was smile back at him. " well im glad to have meet you as well Mirakel and i hope that we can stay in each others comany for a while longer. i don't think well part ways to soon im still trying to get use to this place."

Mirakel gave a small guffaw. He knew well the dangers of this world, though mostly his expertise lay in the west of the Great Continent and in the Albandian Desert. Still, ever since his fiasco in Metropazia, he'd felt a great surge of confidence in his ability to persist in this life. "I don't think it would be a good idea either. Knowing you, you'd probably walk right into the mouth of some beast just to find something to take on as a challenge." He pointed at her with his right index finger, jabbing it in her direction but keeping his tone friendly. "You're very headstrong and independent for being an offworlder, and though it denotates an inner strength, it can get you into trouble." He winked at her and showed her scars on his hand where his hand had been crushed on his first great excursion. "Trust me on that."

she sighed. she may be a bit head strong that part she agreed with but she wouldn't be stupid enough to go up to a unknown creature looking for a fight. as long as it didn't attack her she really wouldn't care about it. though she probly would study it for a while just to know some of the animals that inhabit the planet. " well i guess you have a point but ttrust me i may be a little determaned but i wouldn't be that wreakless, have some faith in me will ya."

Mirakel held up his hands in surrender, letting the subject drop just as the tantalyzing scents and smells of sizzling meats approached their table. The waitress came forward bearing two big plates of meat and veggies, the other with two berry cordials, ice cold and dripping with condensation. The young man eargly reached for his plate and was met with a giggle from their waitress once more.

When both travelers had their food, she asked if there would be anything else, and winking at Maria, told her there might be room for some of that cake. "I'm sure that we might be able to squeeze it in, yes? Money isn't a problem."

Maria looked at the food when it finaly came and she felt her stomach rumble again she was looking atthe food she almost didn't hear Mirakel's question. " huh oh right cake.. well with all of this not really sure but i cuess i can squezze in a small piece if youll have one to i would feel guilty eating it my self."

Mirakel nodded and told the waitress they'd ask for her when they'd finished, and she nodded, moving on to the next patron. The boy smiled and pulled his plate slightly closer, appearances notwithstanding, he ate voraciously, though politely. He managed to stuff the food into his mouth without it seeming impolite, the vegetables gone down his needing gullet before the person behind him had even finished ordering. He'd started on the meat a little slower this time, but not for a lack of hunger, but a clearly written desire to savor the succulent steak. He enjoyed it immensley, though it lasted only three minutes longer than the veggies had.

When he'd finished the plate, he started gulping down small mouthfuls of cordial, waiting for Maria to finish before he would order his cake.

she smiled at the food it look so good it was almost hard to eat it but then that would defeat the purpse of it being there and them ordering it. so she started eatting not as fast as mirakel but fast enough that she finished shortly after he did drinking from her glass every now and then. " ah man that was good how was yours.?"

Mirakel leaned back in his seat, the warmth and contentment spreading through his body was very comforting, and he was enjoying basking in everymoment of it. "My food was delectable, at least what I managed to savor." He gave a hearty laugh at his own little joke. "Man, I was so hungry! I didn't think that I'd be able to last five more minutes without food. At least now that we've eaten, we can take our time getting clothing. From what I managed to gather when we were passing through the market is that its open fairly late. Or if you want we could wait till tomorrow when there's more light? It'll start getting dark around seven, but it's almost five thirty right now." He quickly checked the clock up on the wall to make sure, and nodded in satisfaction. "Or would you rather get out of the stinky clothes ASAP?"
