Isysia had a fair few open fields of green hills. One of these had a rickity wooden fence around it and a firm wooden gate and banner proclaiming it the "Health Ranch" Carniku landed neatly outside and his electric blue aura sucked back inside him with a flash "Health Ranch, huh? Back home I'd say it'd be a waste of time..." but this WAS Eden. There was a fairly good chance that inside here was some really brutal training device that would break a normal human into at least 9 differently sized pieces. He sighed deeply, the tournement was coming up and if he wanted to top fifth place he'd need to do some extra training, relying on his new powers was just lazy and as much as he'd love to catch up on what had happened while he was gone, see Celia's grave and (oddly topping the list) some more of that juice he got from visiting Liebe. He cracked his knuckles and strolled purposefully in.
As soon as he was past the wooden gate two people in odd uniforms and ties appeared besides him "Golly gee! A customer! Well how do, sir?" "Uhhh, hello! I, uhhh, can I just practice some moves? I need some open space and maybe some targets..." "Why of course! Will you be paying in cash or card?" "I, uhhh, I'm kinda broke... how much could I get for 500?" "About 3 hours worth sir!" "Oh cool! What kind of targets are there?" Carniku smiled, he looked around for a second when two huge rotating metal orbs appeared and shot around like silver blurs. Carniku followed them with difficulty and readied some Epsilon Energy in his hands. He swerved to one side and hurled the bolt of energy at the orb as it shot past. It glowed blue and stopped for a second in mid-air, Carniku nailed the other one as well and it too glowed blue in the air for a second before both started moving around again "Oh cool, this'll last for three hours?" "Yessirree!" "Right then!" Carniku grinned and his energy pooled towards his hands again "Let's get this training started!"
After 3 hours Carniku was laying in a pile of bruises and steam as the orbs spun around and shot in to attack at random intervals. He'd improved on accuracy a lot, but he'd had the living daylights beaten out of him once the Orbs mastered the art of colliding with his stomach and face at high speed. The couple who owned the spa scooped him up and carried him off to their quote "Magical Healing Pool" end quote. Carniku woke up once his toes touched the water and ran outside as fast as he could. Then back inside to re-claim his clothes promptly. He explained hesitatantly as he dressed that his Gaikotsu Gene gave him some regenerative properties (he hoped) and that there was no need to scorch his skin so there was nothing left to be bruised. They understood this with regret and said they didn't know he was just a human. Carniku saw no immediate reason why he should correct them on this and so asked if he could borrow a bed instead of the Magical Healing Pool. They gave him one, and after asking for a bed with a matress not nails Carniku got another one. He slept fairly well and left a glowing orb of Epsilon Energy floating by the door so the owners wouldn't want to disturb him.
The Morning was fairly quiet, he crept out onto the landing holding his sneakers in his hands so he made less noise and gently opened the door to step out. He quietly shut the door behind him and breathed out as he relaxed, he turned around to leave and saw the smiling faces of the two owners looking at him. After screaming for a minute not to stab him Carniku stopped and breathed erratically as they held their hands out to him "Welcome! We just wanted to ask if y'all need anything before you leave" "Well, uhhh..." Carniku's first urge was to reply no and that he really must be going but his manners and neccesity stopped him "Actually, is there anyway I could have a sparring match with someone?" "Errr, well, sir, Golly we can't do much about that..." "Why don't you raise your power level, there, that'd work I'd bet" "Well, the thing is, I've kind of got a normal Human Ki flow but I can use Energy from another source so... I kind of don't stand out much as an energy signiture" "Gee, well... Can't you make a big signal?" one of them asked. Carniku paused and smiled broadly "You know? I think I might just try that"
Over on one of the hills a huge glowing sphere of blue illuminated the area in a cerulean glare. Carniku sat lazily in the middle as the sphere stood out as an enormous blob of Epsilon Energy. It was easy to expand his Field outwards like this, it would have taken some effort to make it solid but a hollow bubble of energy was a snap. But he was still bored "Well, by the law of averages. Someone's bound to see this and investigate" Carniku reasoned, he laid back gently and looked at the sun through the blue filter above him.
((Kind of a challenge thread, anyone for a spar?))
