The year-long trip was finally coming to an end. Kain was still asleep, but if he would open his eyes, he'd see the battle-scarred planet of Eden, to which his pod was headed. As he approached the atmosphere, a quiet beeping filled the pod. It grew louder with every moment, and Kain stirred. He opened his eyes just in time to notice a large Ki attack heading straight for his pod. It was too fast and large to evade, so he quickly braced himself for impact.
As the energy sphere hit the small glass window before Kain burst to pieces, and one slashed Kain straight across the face, resulting in a rather nasty cut starting over his right eye, reaching almost to the bottom of his left ear. Kain hissed through his teeth as the deformed space pod began spinning out of control, losing its prior trajectory.
As it hit the atmosphere, Kain felt a violent jerk, and intense heat, as the pod was engulfed in flame, climbing in through the window. Kain quickly created and energy field around him, to protect himself as much as possible. At least the flames wouldn't get to him.
Kain's damaged pod soared through the clouds, and Kain saw a huge continent, to the East of which he was headed. He drew closer to a large row of hills, which seemed to part two entirely different worlds: a vast desert on the West, a green paradise on the East. The ground was drawing closer quick, so he braced himself yet again, and reinforced the energy barrier around himself, fortifying the pod also.
The pod made contact with the side of a hill, and suddenly Kain's world seemed to fall apart. At least his pod did. Kain couldn't even understand what happened, it was an unbelievable blur, and painful, too. After the pod flew to pieces, Kain flew trough the air for over thirty feet, and landed on his right arm, which snapped and broke. Kain lay on his face for over five minutes, until he regained conscious. He stood up, his right arm limp, his left over the bloody cut on his face.
Kain looked around at his surroundings. Behind him was the smoking "landing" spot, to his left were many hills, and to his right was a forest like he had never seen. In a moment the intense heat and humidity hit him. If it wasn't for the cool wind blowing, Kain would probably pass out again. He threw a glance at his arm.
"Damn..." he cursed quietly, then tensed, as he turned his hand and straightened it, bones cracking and healing. When his hand was healed, Kain looked around again and though: 'What a great beginning... This planet's bad luck...', awaiting the next surprise coming to him.
