(OOC: This is the beggining of a looooong Roos side-story, so please nobody join in without PMing me first. Thanks! ;D)
Sword’s Coast- a little known, and not very friendly, place situated at the most southern point of Roosland. Massive jagged rocks tore through the sea, supposedly remains of a once great temple, decimated by time and nature together. These rocks destroyed ships, and grew out of the land of Roosland itself as large grey cliffs of solid stone, thinning out to points in similar appearance to the blade of a sword, thus earning its native name. Roos had decided not to rename it, firstly because he couldn’t put Roos into the name without making it sound silly, and second he liked swords anyway.
Roos was on Sword’s Coast when the final showdown occurred. To those who have been keeping up, you will be well aware that Roosland has been constantly harassed by a rag-tag army, a myriad of alien races, including Xennarians, and so they were almost always on edge. However, there had been a relative peace at the island since the Tournament had started and finished, and he had escaped the decimation that followed, rescuing as many people as he could. That was still on his mind, but he had accepted there was relatively little he could've done to stop it.
He was, however, worried about something. He sat at the very furthest cliff of Sword’s Coast, where it thinned out incredibly slim, and Roos set with one leg either side of the very thinnest needle point of this cliff. His hands were at his sides, both with their palms pressed solidly against the grey stone, and on his face was an uncharacteristic frown, his child-like brows knitted tightly together. He had recently been plagued by dreams- dreams involving what appeared to be endless clones of himself, all with red skin and white hair, except for that one terrifying giant, engulfed in darkness, with its hand raised ready to crush the life out of Roos… but then, of course, he always woke up. He had asked Zammy about his dreams, wondering if he could shed any light on them, but his General was just as perplexed by them as Roos himself.
So with Roos so deep in thought, he didn’t even notice the faint crackle of static electricity in the air around him, or the sudden rise of the temperature around him, as his nemesis, Mr. Shady, teleported down behind him at the end of the cliff Roos sat on. It was only when he spoke that Roos became aware of his arrival, and he did so in a voice laced with malice,
“Roos. It is about time.” Roos’ head snapped up at the voice, and he leapt to his feet, spinning round to stand perfectly balanced on the thin cliff. Seeing who the voice belonged to, he was momentarily confused, then realised who it must be.
“Mr. Shady!”
“My name is Jaisorou, you little idiot. Not that I expect you to be able to repeat that.” While Roos tried to, stammering over the confusing sounds of Mr. Shady’s real name, he pulled back his hood to reveal a shining metal mask in the sunlight.
It was a very intricate and detailed mask, possessing two eye-holes perfectly fitted for the wearer’s specific eyes, three vertical gashes that were there to allow the wearer to breathe while he wore the mask, and two, miniscule and circular punctures on each side, to allow the wearer to hear. Beneath this mask, however, there was an extra security to make sure Mr. Shady’s face wasn’t seen- a length of black cloth had been wrapped around his head underneath the mask, allowing his eyes, nose, and mouth and ears freedom. Clearly, Roos was not meant to know who the owner of the dark sapphire eyes inside the mask was, or even what his face looked like. Considering this is Jaisorou’s first appearance before Roos, it’s worth mentioning what exactly he was wearing. A steel chest-plate covered his upper torso, and both his arms had long, puffy sleeves from elbow up to shoulder, in black material. The steel-chest plate again had a similar design to that of the mask, with intricate swirls and designs scattered across it. From elbow down to his hands he wore what appeared to be steel gauntlets, but he seemed to be able to move his hands inside them easily- there were particularly fierce-looking, sharp curves on each of the knuckles, obviously designed to make punches even more painful than normally. To finish his outfit, he wore battered grey boots, worn away with time, at the bottom of a pair of loose-fitting black leggings. He was really over-playing the dark thing, right?
“It’s amazing, really. How could such a fool as yourself fend off all the plans I threw at you? And I have thrown a lot, as you know. You and your idiotic dumb luck.” Roos blinked a couple of times at Jaisorou, until he sighed and said, “That was an insult.”
“Oooooh… So’s ‘oo face!” Roos cried, realising what his adversary was getting, and pointing an angry finger at him. Jaisorou smiled behind his mask- a chilling contortion of his features that caused Roos to unconsciously shudder.
“I was sent to this mud-ball of a planet to kill you. This is my last chance, Roos, and I do not intend to make any more mistakes!” On the last syllable, Jaisorou suddenly stamped down upon the cliff with such force it broke away, surprising Roos, and he fell off backwards away from the cliff and started falling towards the deadly spikes below.
Roos, moving on instinct, planted both his feet on the rubble that had been the cliff and kicked it up, with force, towards Jaisorou. He easily destroyed it with a needle-thin blast fired from his finger, and grey dust exploded all around him; blotting out his vision temporarily. Through this grey dust, a red fist suddenly shot out and conneted with Jaisorou's nose, surprising him as he reeled back in pain, even through his mask. Roos then shot up to join with his hand, and raised his left back to aim another punch towards Jaisorou's stomach. He caught it, however, and struck Roos across the left side of his face with the back of his gauntlet, the sharp metal scratching his cheek.
Roos spun away, clutching his cheek with a grimace, then ducked suddenly as Jaisorou followed up with a lethal round-house kick aimed at Roo's head. Roos leaned back so he was under Jaisorou's leg, then fired a two-handed Ki blast upwards into Jaisorou's chest. The red flash of his attack sent Jaisorou hurtling upwards, then Roos used his Crimson Ki powers to send him shooting back down into the grey cliffs of Sword's Coast.
Jaisorou smashed into the rocky ground below with enough force to create a two metre-wide crater, and Roos appeared within a heartbeat, a lightning fast and powerful kick aimed at Jaisorou's already injured chest. However, Jaisorou was gone, and Roos looked up just in time for his gauntleted fist to connect with his face, knocking Roos backwards. He staggered on his feet, surprised by Jaisorou's strength, and he took this advantage by striking Roos full on in the gut, then again back-handing him across the right cheek, sending Roos flying into a nearby rock formation. Roos hit the grey rocks hard, and then Jaisorou appeared within the blink of an eye, a steel fist smacking into Roos' nose and forcing his head to smack against the rocks behind him.
He then began to pummel Roos' torso, working the body with vicious force, and the rocks behind Roos cracked with Jaisorou's fists. His merciless assault over, Jaisorou grabbed Roos by the front of his hoodie, and smashed him once more against the rock formation, before hurling him to the ground behind him.
"I expected more from you, Your Majesty..." Jaisorou sneered, grinning maliciously behind his mask as he stood over Roos. His eyes met Roos', but he didn't stand over Roos' body, instead standing near his head and bending over, his hands confidently on his hips and facing directly downwards towards the young King.
Roos winced on the ground, surprised, confused and terrified that his body hadn't recovered from the attack yet- then he had an idea. Glaring up at Jaisorou, Roos' mouth suddenly expanded. His opponent frowned down at him, then his eyes widened in shock- but too late. Roos spat out his Kinoniba attack, and it exploded upwards, latching onto Jaisorou's head. He had mere seconds to act, and he quickly grabbed his mask and ripped it off, hurling it away and clutching his face, praying the liquid hadn't gotten through. His mask had now become the colour of solid gold, and the weight of a thousand bars of the stuff.
"You little son of a...!" He yelled, then looked to where Roos' had been lying and stopped. He was gone.
"Son of a wha'?" Roos asked from behind Jaisorou. He spun round, a sphere of Ki already in his hand- not expecting another Roos to explode from out of the rocky ground beneath him, striking him full-on in the chin and sending him tumbling backwards off his feet. Then the other Roos leapt up and fired a powerful blast of Crimson Ki, while his clone rolled backwards and joined with his twin. The blast connected full-on with Jaisorou, sending him skidding backwards along the ground. Roos then landed, re-fused, and leapt onto Jaisorou, punching him across the face a total of seven times in a second.
Tired of this, Roos grabbed the cloth wrapped around Jaisorou's face, and in one tug ripped it off. In that instant, Roos froze, holding the black cloth in his right hand, his left sitll raised for an eighth punch. Looking down with his wide violet eyes, Roos saw Jaisorou's deep blue eyes, dark black hair that rose up in three violent spikes and fell across his right eye in strands. And his face. His red-skinned face. Jaisorou looked up at Roos, met his eyes, and smiled. Then he struck Roos in the chest with both fists, knocking him off.
Roos rolled backwards and up to his feet, raising his right arm just in time to block a kick aimed for his head.
"Who are 'oo?!" he yelled, leaping off the ground and replying with his own kick, which Jaisorou blocked in the exact same way Roos had. Roos followed up with a punch towards Jaisorou's shoulder, and it connected, knocking him off balance temporarily. He stepped to the right however, avoiding Roos second kick towards his gut, his elbow collided with the side of Roos' head as he stepped, saying,
"I'm just like you."
Roos spun around on the spot, crouching low and aiming a leg-sweep, only for Jaisorou to jump over it and connect with a light kick to Roos' head. Roos placed his hands on the floor and did a backwards cartwheel, just in time to avoid Jaisorou trying to crush his head with his feet. Roos then punched him across the right cheek with his fist, then sent his left knee into Jaisorou's gut with mighty force, winding him and sending him to his own knees. Roos clenched his left fist and it began to glow, a golden haze surrounding it. He asked Jaisorou,
"Who is I?" Jaisorou looked up, clutching his stomach in pain and actually coughed up some blood before saying,
"You... are a mistake."
The Shinko no Kobushi attack collided with such force, Jaisorou's head was removed from his body.
(F.Y.I, Shinko no Kobushi is Roos' new trade-mark move, where he charges massive amounts of Ki into his fist and unleashes it. I would've epxlained in the story, but then the ending would be less dramatic...)
